Why Choose Us
Is it safe to have surgery at GLSC?

It sure is. We have completed more than 15,000 procedures in the past 3 years without any major emergencies or significant patient complications. GLSC is fully accredited by the American Association of Ambulatory Health Care.

What happens if something goes wrong?

GLSC is fully equipped to handle emergencies including cardiac arrest and malignant hyperthermia. In the event of a serious complication, after being stabilized at GLSC, the patient would be transferred to the hospital your doctor chooses. We have had a few patients transferred to local hospitals, (usually for other medical problems unrelated to the surgery) but none for serious complications or emergencies.

Why not go to a Hospital?

Not only is GLSC more aesthetically pleasant, cost effective, and convenient than a hospital, it is also safer. GLSC's infection rate is approx. 0.02%. In local hospitals it is as high as 5% ( there are more sick people with infections in hospitals to start with). GLSC's emergency return to OR is less than 0.1%. In local hospital it is about 2%.

What about the staff?

All GLSC staff have many years of hospital experience and are board certified. They chose to work at GLSC because they feel it is a better experience for patients.

What about anesthesia?

The anesthesiologists who work at GLSC are a very small group that were specially selected to work at GLSC. They are board certified and fellowship trained and take care of adult and pediatric patients every day. Every one is certified in both Adult Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
