FAQ

How soon after a consultation can I have surgery?
The scheduling of your surgery will be determined between you and your surgeon. The surgery Center makes every effort to accommodate the needs of both the surgeon and the patient.

Do you provide post nursing care or overnight stay?
No, you will be recovered at our facility, until you and your surgeon determine that you are able to be discharged. A nurse form the Center will call you the next day, to see how you are doing.

Can I go home on my own?
No. On discharge post surgically you must be accompanied by a responsible adult who may either drive you home or accompany you home in a taxi. Public transportation is not an option. The facility will make every effort to accommodate the scheduling needs of our patients and their surgeons so that you may be able to arrange for transportation home.

What qualifications do your surgeons have?
All the physicians on staff have applied for privileges and been credentialed through our Medical Staff Office. Those physicians that have been credentialed and meet the national standards are granted privileges at our Center.

Do I need blood work done or any other tests?
For patients with health problems relating to high blood pressure or heart problems, may require blood work as well as an ECG. After reviewing your health history, the Pre Admission Testing nurse will determine what tests will be necessary prior to your procedure.

Can I eat, drink or smoke before surgery?
No. Most surgical procedures require that you refrain from eating past midnight before your surgery. You should not smoke, use any "street drugs" or drink alcohol.

The Pre-Admission Testing nurse will inform you of your specific instructions during your interview. You should not smoke as long as you can prior to your surgery date.

Do I need to bring anything?
Please be sure to bring your insurance cards with you the day of your surgery. Depending on the surgery you may be required to bring crutches or a cane to assist you. Please be sure to leave all valuables at home.
